April Fools?

Yesterday, Bennett was dropped off at her Mimi and Papa's in a good mood. Then around 2pm I received a call that she had thrown up on Papa not once, but twice. In addition, in between she had a major diarrhea attack. This wasn't just a stinky was a major blow out! Unfortunately, Papa was holding her yet again and got hit again. Between the two of them, there were 6 dirty outfits (and the day was only halfway through). Myra was forced to do between the laughing of what happened to Papa.

This was the first time I had to call the pediatrician to ask what to do next. I was worried that she may become dehydrated. The nurse recommended that we start with pedilyte and then move onto the "BRAT" diet. "BRAT" stands for bananas, rice cereal, applesauce and toast. Bennett grew tired of this REAL quick and was ready to chow on some real food.

With all of this drama, you would have thought she was real sick, but I think it was more of an April Fool's prank because before and after each incident she was her normal self. We tip-toed back towards her normal diet today, but after three servings of rice cereal with applesauce or bananas, she had had enough and wanted something more substantial. Needless to say, she enjoyed and kept down her veggies tonight, along with her first formula bottle since yesterday morning.

Our little angel is now fast asleep...I'm sure dreaming of her breakfast tomorrow.

Ahhhh, welcome to helpless mommyland...where the baby is sick sort-of, but you really aren't sure why and they can't tell you. The BRAT diet is used for all questionable poopy and pukey issues. Anderson would just look at me like I was crazy when I tried to give him a meal like that! Don't you just love being a mommy during times like these?? ;-)
