Happy Mother's Day to Me!

My Portrait
Every year, I look forward to getting spoiled a little for Mother's Day.  I kicked off the weekend attending "Muffins with Moms" at Preston's school.  I was escorted to my seat where I found a picture of yours truly drawn by Pres, as well as some handprint flowers and a darling pic of him dressed up.  Then I was served a muffin, some fruit and orange juice.  After we ate, we watched the boys sing and play their "guitars" for us.  It was another sweet event with my big boy.

Like every year, Steve allows me to sleep in on Mother's Day while he deals with the kiddos.  Since we had been at a party the night before, I was actually slow moving, and didn't get out of bed until 8:15.  I was shocked to see only my oldest two awake (in fact, Walker slept until just after 9:00)!  As soon as I awoke, Steve got me my coffee and asked me what I wanted for breakfast, and then he and Bennett got busy making it.

After a yummy breakfast, we started showering and getting ready for our lunch reservations (yes, my day revolved around food).  We made it to Brio for a delicious lunch.  It was a nice, peaceful lunch...helping the kids with their word searches.  However, when I went to grab Walker out of his carseat, I immediately knew he had a blowout (and it was a HUGE one!).  So I gingerly grabbed him, wrapped him in a napkin and carried him to the bathroom to change him.  He had pooped everywhere!  Thankfully I had a back-up onesie in his bag....something I normally don't even have.  So though he didn't have his cute little bubble on anymore, he was clean and content for the rest of the meal.

Following lunch, we posed for a quick photo and then headed home.  Later that afternoon, we went for a family walk and ended up visiting with some neighbors.  It was a lazy day, but a perfect one.  And though my kids weren't perfect all day (are they ever?)...I love them with all of my heart and feel so blessed to have them all in my life.  They are the reason after all I get to celebrate this day.
