| Meet the Teacher - Mrs. Day |
I literally can NOT believe that this is the final year for Bennett at Shades Cahaba. Next year she will be starting at the middle school with kids from the other two elementary schools. But this year, I am soaking in the familiarity of our little school, having both big kids at the same place and no letter grades. This year, Bennett is in the 5th Grade with Mrs. Day.
Preston is now in the 3rd grade, and has Mrs. Turner. He has two buddies from sports and previous classes, and has already made a new friend. Though his year started off a little rough (teacher was making sure all of the kids respected her and knew she was the boss), all is well now.

Of course I can't forget about our caboose. Walker was ready to go back to school as soon as Bennett and Preston did. He was bored, and excited to see his friends. Plus, he was pumped to have Ms. Leah and Ms. Kirsten as his teachers for 3K. Some of the children go 2 days, most go 3 days, but Walker and a couple of other kids go all 5 days.
He surprisingly loves the routine, and on Tues and Thurs, when there are fewer children, his teachers let him play with sharpies....his favorite!
All and all, everyone is thriving and doing well!
